What is Dessert Theater?

PLAYS, PASSION and PIES!

All of our Mainstage productions are accompanied by a very special event at intermission. We promote ourselves as “Dessert Theater” and feature a special offering of apple pies, ice cream, iced tea, coffee and cheese platters served at intermission of every performance in another separate building on the Museum’s grounds. The dessert is included in the ticket price; this is not an optional item for which we charge extra.

The apple pies are specially prepared for us by Scotty’s Country Kitchen in New Hampton, NY, a local landmark, and are highly regarded throughout the Hudson Valley.

Our desserts are an integral part of the event although it is ancillary to the performances. While it takes considerable extra time and effort from our volunteer staff to make this happen, it is a proud trademark of our operation.
